frequently asked questions
Do you come out to clear blocked drains during the weekend?
Yes, we provide an emergency drainage repairs service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Someone will always respond whether it’s an evening, weekend or bank holiday. This applies equally to any of our other services too.
Would the local water authority come out and help unblock drains at my property?
This depends on exactly who is responsible for these drains. As a general rule, if drains are on your property and not shared, then responsibility is yours. Drains that sit off your property are not your responsibility. A shared drain is the responsibility of the water authority, who will clear it free of charge.
How do I prevent drain blockages in the future?
The best way to prevent future blockages is to avoid flushing non-dissolving/non-biodegradable items down your drains. This includes food, cooking oils and fats, nappies and sanitary items.
What if a chemical drain cleaner is used?
Chemical drain cleaners have a limited use. For example, using bleach, might clear a small amount of hair clogged in your sink or bath, however repeated use can damage your pipes. It’s always better to contact professionals such as ourselves for advice before you do anything.
